SUMMARY
Participate in creating and maintaining all technical specifications for assigned products. Participate in maintaining appropriate fit, patterns and construction for assigned products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Building and maintaining technical specifications for assigned products e.g., BOM, construction, measurements, cutting, packaging, and associated technical images, etc. according to established criteria.
- Building and maintaining patterns from concept prototypes through final fit approval.
- Learn to work with Merchandising/Design to determine and maintain appropriate fit for assigned products.
- Complete technical specifications and patterns according to deadlines.
- Release technical specifications and patterns to appropriate recipients. Ship hard goods e.g., prototype garments, styling/construction mock-ups, etc.to appropriate recipients.
- Track and monitor progress of Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples in relation to deadlines.
- Facilitate and lead fittings in assigned products.
- Participate in evaluating Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples for fit, measurement and construction accuracy and quality.
- Provide approval/rejection feedback of Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples for fit, measurement and construction accuracy and quality to appropriate recipients.
- Assist technical and pattern guidance to appropriate recipients for Fit samples, Size Set samples
and Pre Production samples. - Gain insight in providing Merchandising/Design with construction/pattern options for cost efficiency.
- Participate in maintaining consistency of technical design and product creation processes.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Computer skills:
MS Windows, Google Apps, Illustrator, PLM, pattern design software (Optitex preferred), 3D rendering software - digital camera operation
- Basic pattern making experience
- Basic garment construction knowledge
- Basic garment fit experience
- Basic pattern grading knowledge
- Basic fabrics and trims knowledge
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical and mathematical skills
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities
- Dedicated team player
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A.A. Apparel Design or Apparel Production, or job related equivalent
- 2-3 years experience in technical design and pattern making
