Red Cedar TG TG is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and self-starting Apprentice Systems Analyst to join our team.
Missing a certification for this position? Red Cedar TG will work with candidates that are otherwise fully qualified to help them obtain required certifications such as CompTIA Sec+, ITIL, CISSP, and other required certifications."
Compensation is based on geographical location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business issues, define requirements, design computer programs, and recommend automated system controls and protocols to solve organizational information issues.
- Determine operational objectives, gather information, and evaluate output requirements and formats.
- Work closely with end users to analyze, define, model, and document systems requirements.
- Identify project milestones, phases, and elements, and keep team within timeline and budget.
- Construct workflow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities, and write specifications.
- Develop organizational change management framework and conduct user acceptance testing.
- Maintain automated system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
- May create end-user documentation (e.g., user guides, process flow charts, training materials) and deliver training.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of system models using industry-standard modeling languages such as SysML.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to analyze system requirements and contribute to the development of system models.
- Support the documentation of system requirements by working closely with stakeholders.
- Contribute to the translation of high-level requirements into detailed system specifications using modeling techniques.
- Assist in the design and documentation of system architectures using model-based approaches.
- Learn and apply best practices in system architecture under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Contribute to model-based verification and validation activities.
- Work with the team to ensure that system models accurately represent the intended system behavior and meet specified requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to various aspects of systems engineering.
- Actively participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance modeling and systems engineering skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT or related discipline
- Ability to obtain a US government Secret clearance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work individually as well as with cross functional teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and apply model-based systems engineering principles
Desired
- Exposure to Business Process Modelling (BPMN) or Systems Engineer Modelling (SysML)
- Basic understanding of the system development lifecycle
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts
- Experience with Air Mobility Command (AMC), US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) or Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) business, C2, or IT systems
