Associate Scientist at The Fountain Group

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking an ­­­­­­­­Associate Scientist for a prominent client of ours.  This position is located in ­­Morrisville, NC. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:

**Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (flexible)**

• The laboratory groups are responsible for the support of pharmaceutical product development in a range of dosage forms both directly with customers and in collaboration with other client facilities.
• This includes formulation development, structural chemistry, analytical support, and clinical trials material manufacturing.
• Summary:
  • Under general supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility.
  • Some evaluation, originality, or ingenuity is required.
  • Follows established protocols and work plans.
  • May be assisted by laboratory technicians/assistants.
  • Comply with divisional and site Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
• Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities
  • Execute laboratory work plan / schedule developed with input from supervisor or senior team member.
  •  May draft technical documents such as methods or certificates of analysis.
  •  Performs parallel review of laboratory documentation and may become qualified to perform technical review of documents for accuracy, thoroughness, and regulatory compliance.
  •  Trains others on procedures and laboratory techniques.
  •  Executes efficiency improvement project with guidance.
  •  All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS (chemistry related degree)
• Physical Chemistry skills (NMR, FTIR, IR, UV/Vis…)
• Technical documentation review/writing
• Equipment maintenance
• *Training of lower-level lab personnel preferred
• *COA drafting preferred

Compensation: $25-35 an hour depending on experience
