Summary
As an Associate Scientist, you will be integral to our research and development team, focusing on advanced techniques in molecular biology and cell biology. Reporting to the Senior Scientist, you will utilize your core skills in ELISA, PCR, and Western blot to conduct experiments and analyze data. Your expertise in next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics will enhance our research capabilities. We expect you to demonstrate strong presentation skills and contribute to collaborative projects, ensuring the successful advancement of our scientific objectives in a dynamic laboratory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead research projects to demonstrate Hi-C technologies as the preferred solution for genomic rearrangement detection in clinical use cases and to strategic partners.
- Spearhead technology development projects for future products, services, and applications.
- Conduct bench experiments, analyze genomic data using bioinformatics tools and algorithms.
- Present interpreted results and proposals for next steps to management.
- Collaborate with peers, cross-functional teams, and managers across all verticals in the organization.
- Engage in technical discussions with external project collaborators.
- Stay informed on current technology trends and scientific/medical literature related to cancer molecular diagnostics.
- Provide technical updates to colleagues and contribute to department meetings.
- Present findings at scientific meetings.
- Anticipate project challenges early, work to resolve them, and use good judgment when escalating issues to management.
- Participate in R&D lab meetings, fostering an environment of intellectual curiosity and critical thinking, with an awareness for technology commercialization and product development.
- Take part in additional special team or individual projects.
Qualifications:
- BS or higher in molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in conducting genomic research and technology development.
- Proficiency in using bioinformatics tools and algorithms for genomic data analysis.
- Strong presentation skills for conveying complex scientific results to diverse audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Extensive experience with NGS library preparation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cancer molecular diagnostics.
- Familiarity with Hi-C or similar genomic technologies.
- Strong understanding of the technology commercialization process.
- Ability to anticipate and address project challenges proactively.
- Experience presenting at scientific conferences and contributing to scientific literature
