This uniquely positions us to address those issues affecting girls and Girl Scouting with all levels of government.
Girl Scouts of the USA’s (GSUSA’s) Public Policy and Advocacy team represents Girl Scouts within the national government affairs ecosystem of Washington, D.C. We assert our position as a key stakeholder on issues related to girls and directed by the Girl Scout mission. We build strategic relationships with legislative and executive branch agencies, interest groups and coalitions, and other important policy related organizations, to carry out our policy goals and to reinforce the importance of Girl Scouts.
GSUSA’s Public Policy and Advocacy team also leads GSUSA’s activities in the Global Girl Scouting Movement, including its leadership role and participation in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. In addition, the team leads Global Girl Scouting advocacy efforts and collaborates across the international Girl Scout/Girl Guide Movement, as well as with Girl Scout councils.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate of Public Policy & Advocacy is an integral part of the Washington, DC office. The Associate reports to the Manager, Public Affairs, and works across the Public Policy and Advocacy (PPA) team to promote the Girl Scouts, the future of the Girl Scout Movement and GSUSA priorities & goals, both short- and long-term. The Associate actively participates in a broad range of projects and programs to position GSUSA as a premier voice for girls and to advance Girl Scouts strategic goals, particularly within government relations and global Girl Scouting. The Associate works closely with the team to build and strengthen government relations and global Girl Scouting capacities within our Movement, including with our councils.
The Associate also serves as office manager for GSUSA’s Washington, DC location and provides administrative support for PPA.
This is a Washington D.C.-based, hybrid position, with regular in-office requirements.

SALARY RANGE: $50,000 -$65,000
This represents the present low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.
