About the Job
- Perform safety oversight inspections at various construction sites
- Review to recommend approval/acceptance of Contractor safety submittals (i.e.: Accident Prevention Programs, Safe Work Plans, MPT Plans, Temp. Subway Barriers, Gasoline Powered Equip. Placard, Temp. Enclosures, etc.)
- Review and evaluate qualifications of Contractor proposed safety management personnel. Provide disposition to PCEO/PMC for Co-Approval
- Conduct post-accident /incident analyses or investigate safety related issues to assist in the resolutions of safety deficiencies and/or findings and the dissemination of information throughout MTA C&D
- Conduct trend and statistical analysis of data and provide reports/recommendations for systemic improvements.
- Perform training functions as may be required (OSHA, safety workshops, project safety meetings and/or stand-downs)
- Function as a technical resource to the Program for safety related matters
- Assist in the performance of safety process audits of in-house construction management for compliance with NYC Transit construction safety policies and guidelines (PMP/PMG 110)
- Provide safety guidance and training to facilitate field progress of project construction
- Perform other safety related tasks as may be required to enhance the departments or Contractors' awareness of safety management
- Contribute to Program Area monthly safety meetings
- Participate in project Qualification, Construction & Safety Kickoff meetings
- Compile weekly and/or monthly personal work activity reports
- Selected candidate to provide his/her own cell phone

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration
OR
Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and 3 years' experience
OR
Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of college education and/or experience described above to make up the equivalent of ten years of education and experience
Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and 3 years' experience
OR
Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of college education and/or experience described above to make up the equivalent of ten years of education and experience
Must have 30 OSHA certification in Construction Safety (29CFR 1926)
