Associate Program Manager, Underwriting (Auto)
Incline P&C Group is seeking an Associate Program Manager to join their dynamic Underwriting team. This role will focus on personal auto programs administered through Managing General Agencies (MGA’s). The ideal candidate will be a go-getter and an expert negotiator. Candidates must have auto underwriting experience to be considered.
Responsibilities:
· Follow the Company Underwriting Manual in selection, onboarding, and ongoing management of MGA business
· Develop and implement management plans tailored to each assigned program
· Conduct regular meetings with Managing General Agents to ensure production and profitability goals are met
· Maintain complete underwriting files in Salesforce and company database
· Lead due diligence process for the selection of new programs, coordinate between departments to examine all facets of MGA to ensure best programs are selected for the portfolio
· Skillfully negotiate terms of MGA contracts alongside legal department for new programs and amendments as needed for renewal programs
· Coordinate with reinsurance brokers and reinsurers to place quota share and excess of loss reinsurance agreements for new and renewing programs, ensure terms are acceptable
· Work alongside actuarial team to monitor written premiums and loss ratios; coordinate rate, form, and rule filings with the MGA to ensure programs are maintaining target loss ratios
· Review reports provided by Regulatory Audit team
· Other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree
· 3 years of commercial or personal lines underwriting experience (must have auto experience)
· Familiarity with reinsurance, program carrier space, and MGA operations preferred
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to skillfully negotiate difficult situations
· Ability to foster and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
· Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to proactively identify underwriting, regulatory, or financial challenges
· Ability to analyze available information to make timely decisions in alignment with the company risk appetite
