About the Job
The Department of Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations at Boston University seeks to hire three experienced advertising art directors and/or copywriters as Associate Professor of the Practice in Advertising. This is a position for industry leaders of national and/or international repute, with the ability and drive to help students be successful in a rapidly changing industry. These are full-time faculty positions beginning in September of 2025. Teaching assignments for these positions include some combination of undergraduate and graduate courses. Courses can include Fundamentals of Creative Development, Portfolio Development, Advertising Copywriting, Art Direction, Creative Video Development, AdLab, and Introduction to Advertising.

Established in 1947, the College of Communication (COM) at Boston University has three departments: Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations; Journalism, and Film and Television. Required Skills
The primary responsibilities of these roles are teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, and service to the University and the College of Communication through participation in various committees. BU offers degrees in advertising at the graduate (Master of Science in Advertising) and undergraduate (Bachelor of Science in Advertising) levels. The successful candidate will be expected to mentor both undergraduate and graduate students and to establish and maintain network ties in the advertising industry.
