This role will involve handling all aspects of personal injury cases from inception to resolution, providing legal counsel to clients, and representing them in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings. The ideal candidate should have a strong plaintiff background, with a proven track record of success in personal injury law. Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of personal injury cases, including car accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and other personal injury claims.
- Conduct initial client interviews to understand their case and legal needs.
- Investigate and gather evidence to support clients' claims, including medical records, police reports, and witness statements.
- Draft and file legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel to secure the best possible outcome for clients.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, presenting evidence and arguments to support their case.
- Stay updated on changes in personal injury law and inform clients about how these changes may affect their case.
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other members of the legal team to ensure cases are handled efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Must be an active member in good standing with the state bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal injury law, with a focus on plaintiff representation.
- Proven track record of success in personal injury cases, including significant settlements and verdicts.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favorable settlements for clients.
- Strong litigation skills, with experience representing clients in court proceedings.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
