Job DescriptionMigrate previously developed CAD data from local or network drives into a defined product lifecycle management tool, like Teamcenter. Perform accurate and deliberate revisions to a Technical Data Package on within a set timeframe. Create new drawings (part, assembly, VICD, and SCD) as required. Work with direct supervision by the Hardware Engineering Director. Consult with Designer peers, Engineers, or Managers as needed.
The associate engineer is responsible for performing routine engineering tasks. These include designing and drafting various mechanical systems and investigate/analyze new materials or components, equipment, and engineering practices. Additionally, they will work with various other engineers to ensure that the designs meet the appropriate requirements.
Job duties to include but are not limited to;
- Migrate previously created SolidWorks and Inventor CAD data (part files, assembly files, and drawing files) from local and network drives to Teamcenter PLM (product lifecycle management tool), as required.
- Gather and store additional information (data sheets, test reports, logistics information) for commercial off the shelf (COTS) components in Teamcenter.
- Update drawings based on ASME Y14 standards and customer feedback per the direction of the Engineering Director.
- Produce timely, robust, unambiguous, and ASME Y14 compliant drawings to define and document the product for procurement, fabrication, and logistic purposes.
- Document changes in separate Change Notice process as defined by the change management process. Research information supporting the past, present, and future state of a given drawing with moderate supervision.
- Create bill of materials in Teamcenter and SAP.
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
Required education: Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, OR Mechanical Design.
Experience: 2-5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive experience with SolidWorks computer aided design tool. Experience with SolidWorks preferred.
- Knowledge of Teamcenter to manage SolidWorks files and data, also known as SWIM (SolidWorks Integration Module), is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of the ASME Y14 drawing standards.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP or ERP equivalent is preferred but not required.
Background: This position may require Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and vetting via the TSA. If required, applicant must successfully pass a federal background investigation. This position may require a U.S. Personal Security Clearance.

- The individual’s primary workplace is located in the Edgewood facility there are no exposures to unusual elements.

The compensation for this position ranges from $85,000 - $130,000/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills, job-related knowledge, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
