The salary range for this position is $69,500 - $86,900 per year based upon a San Francisco location. Offered salary is dependent upon experience and location. POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with general accounting activities, with an emphasis on Treasury and Fixed Assets. The Senior Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager with fixed assets management (maintaining records and depreciation/amortization schedules), daily bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities (preparation of JEs, account reconciliations, etc.). The position is also responsible for improving current processes and analyzing accounting data for feedback to management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and update Fixed Asset Subledger continuously, reviewing all entries posted to Fixed Asset Subledger
- Manage & file Fixed Asset records and support of acquisitions, disposals & capital expenditure requests
- Reconcile Fixed Asset Subledger to General Ledger, provide Fixed Asset roll forward
- Perform treasury duties, including daily cash communication and bank reconciliation
- Be responsible for month-end general ledger close in accordance with IFRS, including posting journal entries, reviewing financial results and reconciling accounts
- Prepare monthly reporting packages using LVMH consolidation tool SyRUS
- Work closely with other finance team members and cross-functional departments.
- Assist in the preparation and review of audit and tax schedules and documentation.
- Analyze current procedures and reporting and recommend changes to develop and implement best practices
- Identify balance sheet errors and improper or misclassified operating expense activity
- Assist with special projects and accounting research as necessary
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Business/Finance with basic knowledge of GAAP.
- 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience; beauty, manufacturing or CPG preferred.
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and complex Excel spreadsheets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills - able to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to pick up responsibilities quickly and work with limited direction.
- Strong organizational skills, attentive to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
