SUMMARY:
The Associate Project Manager Innovation is a key contributor to the
overall innovation team, responsible for leading cross functional teams
in planning, execution, and analysis of innovation initiatives. The
innovation role includes development of new product and packaging ideas,
project management, overall innovation pipeline creation and management,
P&L creation, and go-to-market strategies to achieve corporate and brand
volume profit and share objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Support manager to develop innovation pipeline and innovation
strategies for assigned brand/categories, channels, and customers
reflecting overall corporate and business unit goals.
- Analyze consumer operator data and market trends to identify
insights and translate them into innovation initiatives to drive
results.
- Manage strategic customer initiatives with a focus on agility and
speed-to-market.
- Manage all types of innovation and renovation for brand/categories,
channels, and customers.
- Participate in and lead development and execution of product and
packaging innovation projects including concept development,
feasibility validation, product and packaging, R&D, business
proposal and approval, project execution, customer sell in, and
tracking of in-market performance.
- Manage innovation product launch process, including forecasting with
sales team, attending initial production, coordination of test
markets, and final coordination of product launch including
inventory builds and initial shipments.
- Monitor in market performance to ensure innovation is tracking
against goals; recommend and support the implementation of
corrective actions as needed.
- Work in our innovation project management, packaging, and
specification systems to advance projects with cross functional
teams.
- Work collaboratively with insights, R&D, Channel Marketing, and the
BU to identify new business opportunities.
- Build research and development plans, screen ideas, and optimize our
innovation offerings to meet customer needs and have a clear point
of differentiation vs. our competitors.
- Work hand-in-hand with the sales and channel marketing organization
to understand and integrate our customers strategies into the
innovation pipeline.
- Proactively collaborate with these partners on innovation forecast
accuracy, maximization of opportunities, and development of plans to
deliver against objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree required. MBA or BBA preferred.
Experience: 2 plus years relevant experience. Marketing or sales
experience preferred but not required.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required
Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills
are required.
Special Skills: Demonstrated strong analytical and strategic
thinking skills are required. Strong collaborator with a demonstrated
ability to lead cross functional teams. Proven ability to effectively
manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment is required.
