We are seeking a dynamic, highly-skilled Associate Litigation Attorney with a specialization in Real Estate to join our legal team. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the mortgage industry and play a pivotal role in handling complex real estate litigation matters. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of litigation, including taking depositions, attending hearings, arguing motions, and handling mediations. The candidate will also be responsible for managing relationships with outside counsel, coordinating legal work, and ensuring high-quality legal services are provided to the company. This position is onsite and demands a commitment to providing exceptional legal services.
Responsibilities:
1. Handle all aspects of real estate litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, trial preparation, and trial.
2. Attend administrative hearings and argue motions before courts and administrative agencies.
3. Develop and implement litigation strategies in coordination with senior management.
4. Manage relationships with outside counsel, ensuring that all legal services provided are of high quality and cost-effective.
5. Provide legal advice and counsel to the company on a wide range of real estate matters, including property acquisitions, leasing, and property management.
6. Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks.
8. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and legal changes that may affect the company's real estate holdings.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Florida state bar and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a litigation attorney with a focus on real estate.
4. Proven experience in attending administrative hearings and managing real estate litigation.
5. Demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of complex legal work.
6. Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
10. Proficient in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
11. Familiarity with the mortgage industry is a must.
