PIC represents individuals, corporations, and institutions worldwide, offering comprehensive legal services covering all aspects of U.S. immigration law, including asylum law, family-based immigration, removal defense, and employment sponsorship and compliance.
PIC is looking for an Associate Immigration Attorney with 1-3 years of experience in and knowledge of immigration law, practices, and procedures. The candidate needs to be admitted and in good standing to any state bar. Bilingual abilities preferred. This position is in-person, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, in our Center City office.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare legal documents such as applications, petitions, briefs, motions, appeals, waivers, and affidavits
- Represent clients at Master Calendar Hearings before immigration courts and at interviews before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
- Provide legal advice to clients on immigration law
- Communicate directly with clients regarding their immigration matters
- Interact with various outside entities, including but not limited to government agencies and courts
- Research and analyze complex immigration law issues
- Monitor and stay up-to-date on changes in immigration law and advise clients accordingly
- Develop strategies to resolve immigration-related legal issues
- Manage caseload, including managing case deadlines
Job Requirements
- Must demonstrate interest in immigration law
- Must have strong legal research and writing skills
- Must be organized and capable of managing deadlines
- Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and skill in fact gathering, problem analysis, and the ability to interpret immigration laws, regulations and policies
- Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Must be admitted and in good standing to any state bar
- Must be able to work from our Philadelphia office
- Prior experience in immigration law or working with immigrant communities is a plus
