Associate General Counsel, Product (Youth) - Meta

Summary:

Integrity/Content youth product counsel role. Meta seeks a dynamic and passionate lawyer who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples’ lives to join Meta’s product counseling legal team. You will be supporting the product teams that are working on some of our most significant cross-Meta services and technologies for our youth users. You will have the flexibility, the experience to collaborate effectively and help drive decision making across multiple teams within the legal department, as well as across product, engineering, marketing, policy, communications, and other teams. Required Skills:

Associate General Counsel, Product (Youth) Responsibilities:

1. Act as legal strategic advisor for our youth well-being product and engineering teams, delivering practical legal risk mitigation strategies in an important space

2. Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving legal analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across Meta

3. Provide holistic legal advice across many youth focused subject areas, especially integrity, content regulation, and including, consumer protection, data security, and data protection/privacy

4. Coordinate with policy, public affairs, product management, product marketing, privacy, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development, product development, and product launches

5. Maintain subject matter expertise in youth laws and regulations, especially UK and EU

6. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar

7. 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney

8. In-house experience managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictions, including global youth privacy/content integrity laws and regulations, litigation, and compliance matters

9. Experience with one of the following or related legal areas: Product, content or regulatory counseling, consumer protection, and/or privacy

10. Experience taking on projects involving different subject matters, and working with cross-functional organizations to drive alignment

11. Experience working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, delivering practical advice under pressure and operating within ambiguity

12. Experience supporting a global team at a social media, or other technology company particularly with trust & safety matters

13. Experience with collaborating at all levels of the business including executive and C-suite

14. Experience working effectively across multiple jurisdictions and time zones

Public Compensation:

$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
