About the Role

We’re looking for a driven, tactical, and lightning-fast In-house counsel to join our dynamic and growing team in the US! You will be the key to unlocking Topsort's next stage of growth, building a strong, flexible foundation of best practices and supporting complex negotiations while working with the best retailers, marketplaces, and delivery apps across US and Canada.

You will:

• Embrace the “sports team” mentality of Topsort - work with product, engineering, and sales teams across geography to deepen knowledge of sales, exchange learnings, and earn deals.
• Be a subject matter expert: know everything about the ad industry, Topsort’s products, retail media market landscape, and stay on top of constantly evolving regulatory requirements in ecommerce.
• Demonstrate relentless focus and sound judgment around client negotiations and agreements.
• Collaborate with team leadership to creatively evaluate, mitigate, and manage risk with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work cross-functionally with operations, commercial, and finance teams to establish best practices for compliance and contracting.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from accredited law school; licensed to practice law in the US.
• Demonstrated skill in legal writing and commercial negotiation.
• MA and CA employment law expertise a huge plus.
• Startup hustle and speed. You’re able to work hard, move fast, and adjust to a dynamic environment.
• Self-starter and puzzle solver. You know how to find the right answers before you ask the questions.
• Strong curiosity for the industry and a desire to self-educate to become the expert on auction engines, retail media, and marketplace monetization.
• Team Player: Lone-wolf style tech is from the past; at Topsort, it’s about being a sports team that achieves goals together.
• Work onsite from Boston office 4 days a week, with the ability to travel domestically and internationally for industry events and client visits.
