Job Description: | OPEN ONLY TO UF FACULTY The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the Department of Geological Sciences. The Chair serves as (1) chief administrative officer of the department, calling and presiding at departmental meetings, and supervising day-to-day activities, (2) coordinator of all aspects of the academic program, such as degree requirements, curricular offerings, catalog announcements, class scheduling, and faculty teaching assignments, (3) chief financial officer of the unit, preparing budgets and supervising all receipts of money and expenditures, (4) hiring authority for all searches for new faculty and staff members, (5) evaluator of faculty and staff performance and coordinator of merit pay decisions; (6) liaison to the office of the Dean of the College. Open only to current tenured members of departmental faculty. |
Expected Salary: | The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package. |
