Maximus is seeking an Associate Finance Analyst. The role has three main functions managing internal control and audit processes, CostPoint Setup, & Contract Close-out Procedures. Responsible for preparation of historical project billing data along with final indirect rate details for cost reimbursable project closeout. Will provide monthly progress reports to management on completed projects, any incomplete historical data and financial impacts of overall closeout activities. This is a remote position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for producing accurate project financial reporting and submit on a monthly basis to Corporate Finance. - Track financial status by monitoring variances from forecasts. - Organize monthly Finance Calendar activities. - Prepare monthly accruals for submission to corporate finance. - Review time sheet corrections for accuracy and submit to Corporate Finance for approval and processing. - Monitor fulfillment expenses against forecast assumptions. - Review incoming vendor invoices for accuracy, and provide appropriate codes and monitor payment status. - Perform research and provide additional clarifications. - Publish monthly Project Financial Dashboard and Labor Reports to Project Management.
Audit Support:
- Manages internal control testing responses and ensures all requests have been completed by stated deadlines.
- Coordinates with various departments to support financial audits.
Costpoint Setup:
- Manages CostPoint setup process and ensures internal controls are followed for the entire process.
- Enters contract data into accounting system accurately and in a timely manner.
• Documents are organized to support audit questions.
Contract Close-out:
- Works with other finance and AR team members to obtain all necessary project data from CostPoint as well as historical archived records.
- Review contract documents, terms & conditions and other pertinent details that impact billing and project value.
- Validate all final indirect rates for respective fiscal years and their effects on the total claimed costs.
- Manage and report progress of closeout activities through the master tracker of all completed projects.
- Responsible for ad hoc reporting requests in support of Finance team.
- Support preparation efforts of incurred cost submission for relevant schedules to final settled costs and billing adjustments.
- Determine any additional/supplemental schedules necessary for final invoices submission.
- Will work independently for extended periods.
- Ensures the security and privacy of financial information.
- Responsible for adhering to established safety standards.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Work is constantly performed in an office environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 0-3 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Financial auditing experience
- Understanding of cost reimbursable contracts and process of contract closeouts.
- Strong organizational skills to manage overall project tracking and progress.
- Data entry experience
- Self-motivated and strong communication skills.
- Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.
Desired:
- Some experience in government contracting highly desired
- Deltek Costpoint or GCS experience is a plus.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
