Job Description
- Work with Directors of Service, Department Heads, and Ancillary Staff to develop and operationally support new clinical service lines/ Surgical offerings to meet facility vision and strategic goals
- Analyze existing programs for process improvement and ensure adherence to established protocols for standards of care.
- Work with Directors of Service, Department Heads, and Ancillary Staff to ensure that departmental standards, objectives, and protocols are adhered to in order to meet hospital, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory agency standards.
- Monitor budget for each department within the Ancillary division to ensure proper finances and efficient operations.
- Evaluate equipment purchases for Ancillary departments.
- Manage administrative functions for the division, including employee/labor relations and grievances.
- Participate in all pertinent meetings with other Senior Leadership members. (example TSS, EOCC, Products Standards, Infection Control, Linen, Amb Care)
- Work to maintain a safe environment and positive experience for all patients and family members.
- Attract, recruit, and maintain a high caliber of talented individuals for all Ancillary departments.
- Represent Queens Operations in Queens, Central Office and outside organization committees
- Manage special projects and perform additional duties as designated by the CEO or COO.
- Implements directives of the Executive Director or designee, reviews and evaluates existing programs, makes recommendations for improvement, modification and provision of general administrative and support services.
- Audits existing programs and hospital operations and applies approved criteria for evaluating hospital programs and operational activities.
- Participates in the preparation of expense and capital budgets covering all categories for short and long-range planning and operations.
- Reviews and recommends to Executive Director proposals for construction and alterations of facilities and for acquisition and replacement of equipment.
- Provides supportive assistance in preparation of policies and procedures for the medical care center and provides guidance and council to department heads on development of local hospital programs.
- Meets with Department Heads to coordinate activities and represents Executive Director in liaison with staff and Corporate employees.
- Reviews preparation of periodic reports and directs special studies, reports activities and makes recommendations for implementation.
- Recommends changes in patient care standards to meet requirement prescribed by accrediting agencies.
- Assembles documentation and recommends changes in fee schedules and charges for patient care, room and board.

- Recommends approval or disapproval of employee requests in accordance with Corporate personnel administrative procedures.
- Participates in determination and resolution of employee grievances at appropriate step of grievance procedure.
- Represents the Executive Director in development of cooperative relationships with community groups and agencies.
- Reviews existing training programs and participates in development and maintenance
Minimum Qualifications
- A Masters Degree with a specialization in Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, Administrative Medicine or in Public Health when conferred for a program in Hospital Administration from an accredited college or university; and,
- Six years of high-level responsible experience in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or an equivalent field, or as an Assistant to a Hospital Administrator in a position of direct responsibility for operations of a major part or all of a hospital, including substantial exposure in meeting community health needs; or,
- An equivalent combination of training, education and experience in related fields and educational disciplines; and,
- Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of hospital organization, administration and standards, regulations and laws applicable to hospital operations, knowledge of business and human resources administration principles, management functions, management processes and functions of hospital departments, and ability to direct and supervise personnel.
