About the Job
ExoTerra is a world leader in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall Thrusters, propulsion modules, microsatellites and launch vehicle upper stages. We have been awarded multiple propulsion module and satellite contracts and are in need of an Associate Electrical Engineer to support development of power distribution, power processing units and power regulating systems for spacecraft and Hall Thrusters.
Responsibilities and Duties
An Associate Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting design, analysis, and research tasks as they relate to electronics used for power distribution, power storage and power controllers for microsatellites and Hall Thruster power processing units (PPU). The associate level position will be responsible for small to medium sized projects or components and will be expected to work with supervisory personnel and support solutions to complex problems.
Using industry standard tools, the Associate EE will be able to perform job duties under supervisory direction and will be able to understand the tasks needed to complete the analysis and design of discrete power supplies and supporting circuitry for power distribution and power storage for microsatellites and Hall Thrusters. Experience designing power supplies from 100-1500W and 28-300V preferred.
Develop electronic hardware, including part selection, schematic capture, layout, and fabrication data for circuit board designs
Support fabrication, test and debugging of hardware.
Document test results and customer requirements, assist with the development of production procedures for designs.
Work with software team to develop firmware.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Electrical Engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree
3-5 years experience with electrical circuity design, ideally with a focus on power converter design, with preferred experience in spacecraft electronics design.
Experience with Circuit analyses such as gain/phase analysis, stress/derating, reliability, etc.
Experience with general lab equipment for board bring-up (oscilloscopes, power supplies, soldering etc)
Experience with testing and debugging circuitry.
Experience with schematic capture/PCB layout software
Experience with printed circuit board design.
Good written and verbal communication skills
