Currently, they are looking to add an Associate Director of Development to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$110k – $125k (plus 10% Bonus)
Position Overview:
The Associate Director of Development will report directly to the Vice President of Development, overseeing the company’s single-family developments and preconstruction management. A seasoned development professional, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing both small and large-scale projects, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results. The role requires expertise in Single-Family Residential development, working with multidisciplinary teams to successfully navigate design, planning, and construction processes. The successful candidate for the Associate Director of Development role will be known for consistently delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities of the Associate Director of Development:
- Collaborate closely with the President and Vice President of Development to lead the Development team, enhancing the company’s capabilities in development and project management.
- Partner with the team to create an efficient and effective development process that streamlines operations, minimizes risks and maximizes project profitability.
- Oversee the scoping, briefing, procurement, and preparation of key development deliverables, including project visions, concept layouts, master plans, land development plans, plats, architectural guidelines, construction contracts, and transmittals.
- Build and nurture a network of trusted consultants and contractors to support the company across its operating markets.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships to ensure timely input and alignment during the planning, design, and development phases.
- Track and monitor development activities, providing regular updates on progress and addressing key issues as they arise.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and feasibility analyses, ensuring costings are thoroughly vetted and market-tested.
- Stay current on the latest planning, design, and development trends, particularly those relevant to ongoing projects under management.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential development issues and risks, promptly informing key team members and clients of any significant changes, especially those presenting safety concerns.
Qualifications for the Associate Director of Development:
- Active membership in relevant industry organizations, such as the American Society of Civil Engineers, Urban Land Institute, American Society of Landscape Architects, American Institute of Architects, and American Planning Association.
- 5 – 7 years of experience in planning, design, and management of successful residential development projects.
- In-depth knowledge of pre-construction processes and land development.
- Extensive experience leading and managing small to large, multidisciplinary teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Proven track record of effectively managing and engaging stakeholders, resulting in exceptional outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with additional skills in Adobe Creative Suite and CAD considered are a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership in business and project management, with a history of delivering successful projects.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Construction Management, or Project Management is required.
