Job Description
International Market Access & Pricing: Lead International market access strategies and prepare priority oncology assets for launch.
This position will lead to the international launch and lead additional solid tumor pipeline assets reporting into the Solid Tumor Lead (Director).
Core responsibilities include developing critical launch tools - Payor Value Message, Payor objection handler sand negotiation strategies to prepare affiliates for launch. This position will lead the Access Strategic Imperative group and work closely with the International Brand Team (INBT).
Additionally, the applicant will leverage their payer knowledge alongside expertise of Evidence Based Medicine to shape pivotal development programs for enterprise critical pipeline assets.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Addressing pricing, reimbursement, access (PRA) potential across international key markets, including the EU5, CAN, JPN, AUS, BRA and China Development of Early Integrated Value Proposition, aligned with the overall AbbVie Oncology Strategy, providing strategic direction for the Integrated Evidence Plan and Early Price Potential.
Support global effort to integrate payer value messages into our clinical and evidence-base assessments and develop key market access deliverables in line with AbbVies framework and the asset playbook.
Influence clinical development programs to ensure endpoints and trial design are incorporated that will optimize price, reimbursement and ultimately patient access globally.
Proactively ensure reimbursement perspective is incorporated into early brand plans, disease area strategies and portfolio strategies throughout key clinical development milestones and strategic commercial decisions.
Inform key asset milestone decisions by identifying access trade-offs (price, speed, population).
Collaborate with GHEOR, Clinical Evidence & Outcomes (CE&O) team, policy, Global Marketing, Global Commercial Development, US MHC Marketing, area market access and other functions, to ensure solid understanding of global payer markets and emerging stakeholders in the reimbursement area.
Lead Value and Access deliverable team of the assigned assets as well as relevant indication Touchpoints.
Attend governance in support of market access position to inform milestone development and launch decisions.
Maintaining therapeutic area specific department budgetary activities.
Qualifications
More than 5 years of direct biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience and/or payer experience
Relevant global payer and access experience Education: B.A./B.S. required; Advanced degree (PharmD, MBA, PhD) in a scientific or economic area nice to have
Preferred Competencies:
Strong leadership, intrapersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills to work with a variety of groups in ensuring that the strategic direction for market access and pricing is in balance with the market as well as corporate goals
Comfortable contributing to technical clinical and disease area discussions Experience in payer trends, evaluating drivers of market access success
Knowledge of pricing policy & regulations and healthcare in key markets
Understanding of regulatory agency requirements or policies that govern market approval, and the impact on reimbursement decisions
Knowledge of pricing regulations, pricing governance in key global markets, standard operating procedures, and the business of healthcare in key markets Experience across multiple therapeutic areas including Oncology is desirable Strong presentation and writing skills
