About the Job
The Associate Director, HR Business Partner will provide a broad range of Human Resources expertise to support the achievement of business objectives of WuXi AppTec’s Medical Device Testing business and WuXi AppTec’s U.S. Operations and Finance units. Acting as a partner to Senior Management, the incumbent will work closely with executives and other leaders to plan and execute strategic and tactical HR initiatives that are aligned with corporate and business unit goals. This position will report directly to the VP of Human Resources.
RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE (But are not limited to):
Change Management. Collaborates with leaders and other stakeholders to develop the transformation strategies and tactics, to facilitate organizational success in complex business situations such as organization change, mergers, acquisitions, and new HR systems implementation.
Talent Management & Employee Engagement: In collaboration with business leaders and VP of Human Resources, conducts training needs analysis and identifies training solutions to build capability, and partners with Corporate HR to ensure alignment. Collaborates across US HR organizations to facilitate, measure, and continuously improve the employee experience at WuXi AppTec.
Organizational Development: Functions as a strategic partner with client group business leaders in root cause analysis, planning and implementation of pragmatic changes in organizational structure, culture, or processes to support growth within the organization.
Employee Relations: Works with managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues. Optimizes managers’ leadership and coaching capabilities by becoming a trusted advisor.
HR Programs & Services. Partners with team members and COE leaders to ensure seamless HR delivery to client group management. This group will be responsible for:
- Identifying the need for HR programs or strategies to support business goals, as well as strategic direction.
- Providing senior management with an interpretation of current HR policies.
- Annual review of compensation data to ensure competitiveness of pay structure to attract, reward, and retain talent.
- Facilitating the training of managers and individual contributors on HR programs and policies
- Developing and conducting presentations to employees and managers on a variety of HR subjects.
- Leveraging metrics to inform or persuade business leadership about organization and people performance and engagement.
- Designing and/or implementing programs in accordance with company-wide Human Resources policies, procedures and initiatives.
Staff Development. Coach, mentor, and develop staff to achieve their fullest potential.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 9 years of experience in Human Resources, Organization Development, Talent Management
- Minimum 4 years of experience coaching, influencing and partnering at the senior leader/ executive level.
- BA/BS degree or additional 4 years’ experience
- An MA/MS degree preferred (and may substitute for 2 years of experience)
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing change management strategies and plans.
- Previous Cross-cultural and cross-geography experience, especially supporting organizations in the EU and China.
- Versatility in using human capital analytics.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Ability to develop, coordinate, and follow organizational systems, policies, procedures and follows labor and capacity standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to personnel administration and various compensation and practices.
- Demonstrated success in managing and coaching leaders in employee relations and through performance management issues.
- Proficient verbal & written communication skills.
- Able to read, write and understand English.
- Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of HRIS including report generation.
- Travel is required 10-15%, Domestic, Daily / Overnight
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach.
