We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and motivated Permanent Associate Defense Attorney to join our fast-paced legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases, including workers compensation, litigation, malpractice, mass tort, product liability, employment law, oil and gas law, and automobile negligence. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned attorney with a strong background in these areas, who is ready to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:
The Permanent Associate Defense Attorney will be responsible for:
1. Handling a broad range of complex defense cases from inception through trial.
2. Researching and analyzing intricate legal issues and writing briefs for submission to supervising attorneys.
3. Representing clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or argue against plaintiffs.
4. Examining legal data to determine advisability of defending lawsuits.
5. Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
6. Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery, and motions.
7. Negotiating settlements of civil disputes in the best interest of the client.
8. Maintaining communication with clients, keeping them informed about their cases, and managing their expectations.
9. Collaborating with legal staff to ensure cases are handled efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Minimum of 2 years of workers compensation experience
3. Active member in good standing with the State Bar of Mississippi.
4. Proven track record of successfully defending complex cases.
5. Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
6. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve disputes favorably.
7. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.
8. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, judges, and opposing counsel.
9. High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
10. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with legal trends and changes.
