Position Summary:
The Associate Collaboration Administrator at Vanderbilt University supports the operation and maintenance of collaboration technologies across the institution. This junior position provides essential support for enterprise messaging and collaboration services, working under the guidance of more experienced team members. The infrastructure supported by this role includes Microsoft and Google cloud tenants, Box, Zoom, as well as on-premises environments such as LISTSERV, and Microsoft Exchange.

Key Functions and Expected Performance:
Collaboration Technology Support
+ Assist in the administration and maintenance of Microsoft and Google cloud tenants.
+ Support on-premises environments including Microsoft Exchange and LISTSERV mailing lists environments.
+ Assist with day to day support of other technologies such as Microsoft Teams telephony, zoom, and box as needed.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to collaboration technologies in a timely manner.
User Assistance and Training
+ Provide support to end-users for various collaboration tools via VUIT’s ticketing system.
+ Assist in the development and delivery of training materials and sessions to enhance user proficiency.
System Monitoring and Reporting
+ Monitor system performance and generate reports to ensure optimal operation of collaboration technologies.
+ Implement and maintain monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues.
Documentation and Compliance
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.
+ Ensure compliance with university policies and industry best practices related to data security and privacy.
On-call Responsibilities:
The position includes rotating on-call duties for after-hours incident response and requests.
Supervisory Relationships:
This position does not have supervisory responsibility. This position reports administratively and functionally to the Collaboration Administration Manager.
Education and Certifications:
+ A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, related experience is necessary.
+ A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
+ Current certifications related to Microsoft services are strongly preferred.
Experience and Skills:
+ 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related field is necessary.
+ Basic understanding of collaboration technologies such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, LISTSERV, Box, and Zoom is preferred.
+ Experience with PowerShell scripting is preferred.
+ Familiarity with system monitoring and reporting tools is preferred.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues are necessary.
+ Effective communication skills to assist and train end-users is necessary.
+ Ability to work collaboratively within a team and under the guidance of senior team members is necessary.
