Position Title: Group Treatment Facilitator/ Clinician
Reports To: Program Director
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Locations: Costa Mesa, CA or Laguna Woods, CA
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Group Treatment Facilitator to join our team. This role involves effectively facilitating group treatment modalities and conducting initial assessments for new patients within the scope of practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in treatment planning, patient interaction, and documentation, while contributing to a supportive therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Group Facilitation: Effectively facilitate group treatment modalities using approved curriculums and standard group facilitation techniques.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct initial assessments of new patients and develop comprehensive initial treatment plans.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and update master treatment plans in accordance with program policies and procedures, utilizing assessment data and input from the treatment team.
- Progress Documentation: Accurately enter progress notes for assigned patients within established timeframes, ensuring clarity and relevance to treatment goals.
- Incident Reporting: Document incidents or unusual occurrences promptly.
- Record Monitoring: Ensure completeness and accuracy of medical records for all assigned patients, notifying the Program Director of any discrepancies.
- Discharge Summaries: Complete timely discharge summaries for all assigned patients as per program policies.
- Patient Interaction: Develop therapeutic relationships with patients, conducting regular 1:1 interactions to review goals and progress.
- Liaison Responsibilities: Maintain regular communication with other care providers, including physicians, family members, and case managers, regarding treatment and discharge plans.
- Crisis Management: Effectively manage patient crisis situations and coordinate care with attending physicians.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow mandatory reporting laws for vulnerable populations and adhere to billing procedures and insurance reviews.
- Public Relations: Participate in public relations and educational activities as directed.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, ASW, or Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor with the Board of Behavioral Services, or a Psych Assistant registered with the Board of Psychology.
- Preferred: 2 years of clinical experience working with seriously mentally ill, developmentally disabled, or substance abuse clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, terminology, and medical record charting basics.
- Good group facilitation skills and experience.
- Must complete MAB requirements within 90 days of hire.

- Supervision hours available.
- Open to new graduates and individuals nearing completion of their hours, with the potential for a pay increase upon transition to Licensed Clinician.
- Outpatient, lower acuity role.
