Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Bodily Injury Defense Attorney to join our dynamic insurance defense team in Florida.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending bodily injury claims, particularly in the context of automobile, general liability, and premises liability cases.
This position requires a proactive professional who can effectively manage a caseload, engage in all aspects of litigation, and provide high-quality legal representation to our insurance clients.
- Manage a diverse caseload of bodily injury defense cases, including automobile accidents, premises liability, and general liability claims, from inception to resolution.
- Conduct thorough legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Develop and implement case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients, including negotiating settlements when appropriate.
- Collaborate with clients, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel to prepare for trial or settlement negotiations.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, keeping them informed about case developments and advising them on potential outcomes and strategies.
- Stay current on Florida laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to bodily injury defense and insurance litigation.
- Comply with all court deadlines and procedural requirements, ensuring all legal documents are prepared and filed in a timely manner.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and support staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- 3+ years of experience in insurance defense, with a focus on bodily injury claims.
- Strong knowledge of Florida's personal injury and insurance laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Proven trial experience with a record of successful outcomes in bodily injury defense cases.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to providing exceptional client service.
