Our firm is seeking a dynamic, experienced Permanent Attorney specializing in Banking & Finance, with a focus on Low Income Housing. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team and make a significant impact in our community. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and services to our clients in the areas of banking and finance law, with a particular emphasis on low income housing tax credits and commercial finance law. This position offers a unique blend of complex legal work and community involvement.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal counsel to clients in the banking and finance sector, with a particular focus on low-income housing.
2. Interpret and apply laws, court decisions, and other legal authorities in the preparation of legal opinions, briefs, and cases.
3. Draft, review, and negotiate complex loan documents, agreements, and contracts related to banking, finance, and low-income housing projects.
4. Advise on the structuring, formation, and operation of various types of affordable housing transactions, including those involving low-income housing tax credits.
5. Represent clients in regulatory matters and disputes involving banking and finance law.
6. Conduct legal research and analysis on a wide range of banking and finance issues.
7. Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services to our clients.
8. Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and industry trends in banking and finance law and low-income housing.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in banking and finance law, with a focus on low-income housing tax credits and commercial finance law.
4. Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to banking and finance, and low-income housing.
5. Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documents.
6. Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
9. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
10. Commitment to serving low-income communities and advancing affordable housing initiatives.
