Description
This is an opening for an associate attorney with at minimum of three to five year’s of experience representing nursing homes. Admission to practice in New York State is required. This is a full time position with benefits.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in managing and collecting large caseload of delinquent nursing home accounts.
Advise clients in regulatory, transactional and litigated matters.
Resident guardianship matters for skilled nursing home residents.
Draft legal documents: necessary pleadings and motions, letters, stipulations and proposed orders, subpoenas, petitions, manage discovery requests as needed.
Court appearances as required throughout New York State.
Substantial communication with clients, debtors, opposing counsel and managing attorneys.
Assist with and oversee filing court documents, including general knowledge of e-filing practices.
Manage schedules and deadlines for large caseload.
Requirements
Admission to New York State Bar.
Prior nursing home representation experience.
Understanding coordination of benefits with Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team member
