Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of civil litigation, family law, commercial litigation, and probate cases from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court.
- Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc).
- Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing on complex matters.
- Attend court proceedings (status conferences, settlement conferences, hearings, trials, etc).
- Work with clients to establish case strategies, update them on case progress and legal complexities.
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations.
- Perform pretrial discovery, and handle depositions and court appearances.
Job Details
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- 2+ years of litigation experience, specifically in civil litigation, family law, commercial litigation, and probate.
- Must be licensed to practice law in the state and in good standing.
- Familiarity with various legal documents and terminology.
- Superior negotiation skills with the ability to resolve disputes and strong decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse clients.
- Proficient in legal research software and case management systems.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
