Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal representation to clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, property division, prenuptial agreements, and domestic violence cases.
- Conduct legal research and draft complex legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, memoranda, and other legal papers.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations, advocating for their best interests.
- Develop and implement effective case strategies in collaboration with clients and colleagues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government regulations related to family law.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, providing empathetic counsel and maintaining open lines of communication.
- Collaborate with a team of legal professionals, contributing to the firm's overall success.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in family law, with a particular focus on estate planning and probate, and divorce.
- Proven track record of representing clients in family law matters, with demonstrable success in negotiation, mediation, and litigation.
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
