We are seeking a highly motivated, dedicated, and experienced Associate Attorney to join our dynamic Environmental & Land Use Law team. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with a solid background in litigation and a passion for environmental law. This is a unique opportunity to join a team of legal professionals committed to providing top-tier legal services and promoting environmental sustainability. Responsibilities:
As an Associate Attorney - Environmental & Land Use Law, you will be expected to:
1. Conduct comprehensive and complex legal research on a wide range of environmental and land use issues.
2. Represent clients in court and before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or to initiate legal actions.
3. Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations in relation to environmental and land use laws.
4. Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
5. Manage and oversee paralegals and legal assistants.
6. Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.
7. Negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
8. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest developments in law and in the legal profession.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Associate Attorney - Environmental & Land Use Law position will have:
1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Florida state bar.
3. A minimum of 7 years of experience in litigation, specifically in environmental and land use law.
4. Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
5. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and court officials.
6. A strong understanding of the principles, methods, materials, and practices of legal research.
7. A deep understanding of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government regulations, as well as political processes.
8. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
10. The ability to manage a heavy workload and to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
11. Proficiency in using legal research software and other relevant computer applications.
