Responsibilities
As a Permanent Associate Attorney (Defense), you will be expected to:
1. Manage a diverse caseload of complex defense cases, including business litigation, from inception to conclusion.
2. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support defense strategies.
3. Draft, review and negotiate a range of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements.
4. Represent clients in court proceedings, mediation, and arbitration.
5. Provide sound legal advice to clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
6. Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to develop and implement effective defense strategies.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, legal principles, court procedures, and recent judicial decisions that may impact the cases you handle.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality and professional ethics.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Associate Attorney (Defense) position must possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. An active license to practice law in the state of California.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Associate Attorney, with a focus on business litigation.
4. Proven experience in managing complex defense cases from inception to conclusion.
5. Excellent research, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
6. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
7. A high degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical awareness.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
