We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join our esteemed legal team. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for providing legal advice on a broad range of intellectual property issues to our clients. Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Manage and oversee the prosecution of patent applications at USPTO.
- Conduct IP due diligence in connection with business transactions and investments.
- Draft and negotiate intellectual property agreements, including licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, and technology transfer agreements.
- Handle IP/patent litigations, including preparing legal documents, conducting legal research, and representing clients in court.
- Collaborate with scientific and business teams to understand and protect the company’s intellectual property rights.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in intellectual property law and advise clients accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- A PhD in Biotechnology or a related field is preferred.
- Admitted to practice law in Illinois and registered to practice before the USPTO.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in intellectual property law, with a focus on IP/patent litigation.
- Proven experience in managing patent portfolios and IP due diligence.
- Strong knowledge of USPTO procedures and guidelines.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and drafting skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex legal issues.
- Proficient in using legal research tools and software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
