Job Qualifications:
Currently licensed as an Assisted Living or Healthcare Administrator in good standing with the state of Virginia. Must meet the requirements of an Assisted Living Administrator as defined by regulation. Previous experience of three (3) to five (5) years in a supervisory capacity, or exhibited commensurate level of skills and knowledge, with a demonstrated productivity achievement level is required. Relevant skills include a thorough understanding of the emotional and social needs of residents in Assisted Living to include Memory Care, and of the community agencies and resources available to meet their needs. A working knowledge of Assisted Living facility regulations and labor laws is necessary, as are skills in planning and organization, supervision, leadership, training and mentoring, interpersonal relationships, and superior written and oral communications. Must have current Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification in place (or be able to obtain in a period of time determined at hire).
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for all aspects of Assisted Living to include, but not be limited to, programming, financial responsibility, staffing, regulatory compliance, and delivery of high quality services as determined by the residents and their families.
Performance Expectations:
The Administrator must demonstrate proficiency in the essential functions of this position as outlined in the job description. As applicable, the administrator must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assure provision of care/service, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the residents served.
Job Duties:
Administrative:
Manages all aspects of Assisted Living in order to fulfill expectations and carry out intended programming.
- Operate the Assisted Living facility in accordance with the non-medical hospitality model.
- Responsible for development and implementation of all policies and services as outlined in the Assisted Living Policy and Procedure manual.
- Develop, oversee and maintain acceptable departmental standards, objectives and goals to maximize quality and service to the resident.
- Ensure all staff and volunteers comply with Residents’ Rights.
- Oversight of the Individualized Service Plan process- on the schedule set forth by state and federal regulations.
- Oversight of the completion of the required social services assessments on residents in regular Assisted Living and the Memory Care neighborhood as dictated by regulations.
- Coordinate and participate, as appropriate, in interdisciplinary Resident Care Team meetings. Meets with residents and their families as needs and concerns arise in order to provide a timely resolution.
- Ensure that monthly Resident Council meetings occur and are available to all residents.
- Strive to attain excellence in resident satisfaction through solicitation and measurement of feedback, implementation of suggestions, interactive problem solving, and annual program evaluation.
- Focus on ongoing planning, development, and implementation of program growth and/or innovation in services.
- Conduct regular rounds throughout the facility in order to observe the social and resident services function and remain knowledgeable about resident’s preferences and ensure staff is providing proper service.
- Participate in planning, budgeting and monitoring all resident services in conjunction with the Administrator of Health Services.
- Maintain full compliance with approved departmental budgets.
- Oversee proper ordering of necessary equipment and supplies; reviews and approves invoices for supplies, equipment, and services in collaboration with other purchasing personnel.
- Notify, immediately, the Assisted Living Nurse Manager, Social Worker and/or Administrator of Health Services of any resident or service concerns requiring his/her attention.
