This is a position that works ideally 8:30-6pm, Monday – Friday with the possibility of part time flexibility. The pay is $13 -15 per hour depending on experience and qualifications with incentive pay. The position is onsite at our center located: 398 Douglas Avenue, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714.
The Pre-K Teacher develops a cohesive teaching team with our Lead VPK Teacher, coordinates the curriculum for our school age students in aftercare and manages the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. The Teacher in this role should be high energy and able to work well with staff, students, and parents. You’ll have the opportunity to be a leader in the classroom, champion a team environment, and provide fun-filled learning opportunities while making a positive impact on the lives of children. You will also have the opportunity to work as the Lead Summer Camp Teacher, planning evets and fun filled field trips.

What You’ll Do:
• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum for children ages 3 to 4 years by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
• Lead by example and encourage success through modeling and coaching
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
• Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement while following all facility policies and state regulations
• Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
• Understanding the developmental stages of early childhood
• Implement sensory-rich, age-appropriate lesson plans
• Encourage children to develop language skills, a community-spirited classroom through sharing, caring and self-regulation while also encouraging independent feeding and self-help skills
• Track children’s progress and report to parents
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
What We Need from You:
• High school Diploma and/or degree in related field of study required
• FL DCF 45 hours Required with a CDA preferably

• Willingness to obtain VPK Teacher credentials from DCF
• Must clear a full DCF background check
• At least 1 year of professional early childhood training/experience
• CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment
• Fluent in both English and Spanish is a Plus
