We currently have an exceptional new role for an Assistant Vice President of Professional Affairs. The AVP for Professional Affairs will work directly under the EVP of Medical Affairs / Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and will play a critical role in supporting the CMO in overseeing clinical operations, strategic initiatives, and the development of the Maimonides Doctors medical group into a unified faculty practice. To qualify, you must be an organized, dynamic individual with strong process skills and a background in healthcare management, strategic planning, and operational excellence. You will act as a liaison between the CMO and various stakeholders, ensuring that the vision and objectives of Health System and CMO are effectively communicated and executed.
Specifically, you will:
- Support the development and integration of the Maimonides Doctors medical group into a unified faculty practice, enhancing collaboration across the medical group.
- Assist in the management of projects and programs to enhance clinical ops/patient care.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations related to the CMO’s office, including managing workflows, coordinating meetings, and tracking progress on key initiatives.
- Lead/manage special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CMO, including research, analysis, and reporting on project outcomes.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to drive the successful implementation of new programs/processes, particularly related to integration of the MH Doctors medical group
- Provide supervision of administrative support to the CMO, including calendar management, meeting preparation, and correspondence.
- Prepare and review reports, presentations, and briefing materials for the CMO.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries
- Represent the CMO in meetings and discussions as needed, ensuring alignment with the CMO’s priorities and objectives.
- Analyze performance metrics and data to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement in clinical operations and patient care.
- Lead and coordinate administrative and support staff within the CMO’s office, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
We require:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in healthcare management. Experience in an academic medical center or large healthcare organization is highly desirableStrong strategic and analytical thinking abilities, with a proven track record of successful project management and operational oversight.Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis, performance monitoring, and report generation.
- Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience with Power BI or Tableau preferred.
Experience in supporting medical groups or faculty practices is highly desirable.Salary $150,000-$175,000
