About the Job
Established organization is seeking an Underwriter Assistant on a Direct Hire basis! Pay ranges from $65-85k DOE.
Responsibilities:
- Processes new business submissions and tracks returned forms.
- Supports underwriters with renewals, application reviews, and policy decisions.
- Conducts loss analysis and reviews documentation for accounts.
- Provides underwriting support for smaller, less complex accounts.
- Collaborates on quotes, renewals, policy changes, and related issues.
- Builds relationships with agents and addresses their inquiries promptly.
- Prepares data for reports and special projects as needed.
- Requests renewal information, investigative reports, and risk control services.
- Updates and maintains policy details using company systems and manuals.
- Calculates premiums for endorsements and cancellations.
- Resolves billing issues in coordination with internal teams.
- Manages interim wage reports and ensures accurate account documentation.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of commercial insurance experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial rating systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in interpreting policy terms and factual data.
- Effective multitasking and time management under deadlines.
- Demonstrates urgency and delivers prompt, effective customer service.
- Works well independently and collaboratively.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. required.
