As the Assistant Training Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management of the Training Program, with a focus on the CBTC System. You will work closely with the Training Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure that District staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and capabilities to effectively operate and maintain the CBTC System. Additionally, you will collaborate with technical writers/trainers and engineering personnel to enhance document development, training approaches, and understanding of ATS, CBTC Vehicle, CBTC Ground, and Wayside Technologies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of the Training Program to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with technical writers/trainers to enhance document development and training approaches.
- Work with engineering personnel to learn about ATS, CBTC Vehicle, CBTC Ground, and Wayside (MicroLok ViPro) Technologies.
- Support the development and delivery of training materials, modules, and programs related to the CBTC System.
- Assist in coordinating training sessions, workshops, and simulations for District staff.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and performance.
- Stay informed about industry developments, regulations, and best practices related to CBTC Systems and training methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Training, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in training program management or instructional design preferred.
- Knowledge of rail industry operations and CBTC Systems is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other training software/tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Ability to drive to other facilities with an hour's drive of Oakland, CA office for onsite demonstrations, trainings, etc.
