ITS has a client in the Bowling Green OH. Area seeking a Tool Room Supervisor. This is a direct hire with full benefits including 401k.
Responsibilities
•Schedule the daily activities of the department to meet customer demands while providing a safe environment for employees.
•Schedules and coordinates all activities within the department.
•Recommends die modifications.
•Ensures quality standards are met and maintained by continually communicating with the Quality and Production departments.
•Participates in ongoing Continuous Improvement processes.
•Ensures requisition orders required for tooling and replacement parts are completed promptly.
•Keeps current on all new processes.
•Visits customer locations to view site and use of parts and provides recommendations on processes if appropriate.
•Implements any engineering changes based on customer requirements accurately and efficiently.
•Provides required training to employees for job-specific activities/responsibilities.
•Establishes and maintains an effective preventative maintenance program. Ensures all tools are properly fit for use.
•Provides coaching and counseling to direct reports and conducts timely performance appraisals, as required, for both salary and hourly employees.
•Any other reasonable request made by management.
•Contributes to a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize, and support) are supported and adhered to.
•Effectively and efficiently handles machine breakdowns to not jeopardize customer commitment.
•Ensures that overtime is distributed equally to all employees.
•Accurately quotes costs on tooling changes presented without a drawing.
•Accountability –is accountable in areas of:
•Safety of employees using equipment within the department •Administers and manages departmental budget.
•Contacts –establishes/maintains relationships:
•Members of management in the areas of Engineering, Quality, Advanced Quality Planning, Accounting, and Production
•Customers
•Suppliers
Qualifications Work Experience (provide details and minimum # of years required)
•a minimum of 5 years of on-the-job experience
•Previous supervisory experience as an asset
•Ability to work with Statistical Process Controls
•Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO14001 requirements
•Familiar with Occupational Health & Safety Act and company policies and procedures
