Overview:
The Assistant Teacher assists the Teacher in providing educational and special education services specified by the individual needs of assigned students, as documented in educational plans such as IEPs and PEPs; provides leadership and guidance to the students in a supportive atmosphere.

USD $19.00/Hr.
Max:
USD $24.00/Hr.
Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Maintains a safe learning environment for students within the scope of administrative policies and procedures
Supervises and manages student behavior in the classroom, school and school-sponsored functions
Provides a consistent and reliable supportive presence in the classroom
Assists in the direct group and individual instruction to students
Stimulates interest and cooperation in individual and group activities
Provides a learning environment that is stimulating and motivating to students who generally have not adjusted well to school
Assists in the timely completion of all necessary paperwork to accurately record student progress. This is to include daily attendance records, grades, IEP data logs, portfolios, and behavioral logs
May assists in the creation of curricular and remediation materials, as directed by the teacher
In the absences of the teacher, ensures that all instructional plans are implemented
Participates as an active member of the Treatment Team. Communicates all appropriate information within and without the classroom orally and in writing
Assists in the development and maintenance of a positive school culture
Maintains proper rules, safety and security of students, providing crisis intervention when necessary
Informs the teacher and/or administration of all relevant situations
Attends trainings and meetings as required
Shares/transmits the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff and to students and families served
Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, Arrow policy, NCASES, and COA standards

Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED and at least one (1) year experience working with children and families preferably in a school setting. Bachelors or Associates degree preferred.
