Responsibilities
Qualifications
Training and Experience:- Highschool diploma/GED
- Completion of 30 college credit hours
- Five years of experience in the construction and inspection of sewers
OR
- Highschool diploma/GED
- Completion of the American Public Works Association's (APWA) Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector II Certification
- Five years of experience in the construction and inspection of sewers
Desirable Knowledge. Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, practices and techniques involved in sewer construction;
- Thorough knowledge of standard engineering field tests
- Skill in interpreting plans and specifications
- Skill in forming and maintaining effective working relationships with contractors, consulting engineers, public officials, the general public and others
- Skill in expressing oneself clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
- Skill in maintaining records and preparing reports
- Ability to assign and oversee the work of construction inspectors
- Familiarity with use of personal computer and department hardware and software
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee
resides.
Pursuant to MSD's "Substance Abuse Policy and Procedures," this position has been
designated as safety sensitive and candidate must pass a Non-D.O.T. Drug Test for
this position. Employees occupying this position are not subject to Federal (D.O.T.)
Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations.
Employees of MSD must have a meets expectation on their last completed performance evaluation.
