We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent with an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality to join our Project Delivery and Construction team in Somerset, New Jersey. In this role, you'll support the Site Superintendent in the oversite of work progress, subcontractor manpower, and correct work coordination between the trades. The primary focus is to assist in ensuring that the subcontractor and vendor work is completed safely and in compliance with the contract documents and project schedule. Further, this position assists with collecting and assembling on-site testing reports, inspection reports, Operation and Maintenance manuals, and As-Built Drawings for close-out documentation to the IPS Commissioning/Validation team and client.
Position Responsibilities
- Development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans.
- Oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure the achievement of Project Safety objectives.
- Oversee/inspect subcontractor work to ensure compliance with the contract documents.
- Development and administration of Project Rolling Completion/Punch lists.
- Document quality-compliant completed work via as-built drawing walk-downs.
- Document construction activities via Electronic Daily Report Completion.
- 1+ year of experience (Co-Op or Intern experience) in Engineering, Project Delivery or Construction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
Context, Environment, & Safety
- This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
- You will visit client sites and will be required to adhere to stated safety rules.
- You may be assigned to the client site for an extended period.
- Overnight travel or staying in the city of the client’s location is possible depending on the assignment.
This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is considered a field contractor supervisor and acts in a supervisory role for fieldwork for IPS employees or subcontractors.
