We currently have opportunities for Assistant Superintendents. The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. The Assistant Superintendent directly supervises field labor force, including laborers/craft workers and contributes to planning and execution of the project goals. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities:
- Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force
- Assess manpower and equipment needs with Superintendent
- Inspection of Contractor or (sub)Contractor operations to ensure compliance with contract
- Assist in the review and approve subcontractor Payment Applications with Project Manager/Project Engineer
- Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect/Engineer
- Assist in developing and maintain site logistics plan with Superintendent, in coordination with Project Manager/Project Engineer
- Conduct quality inspections and prepare report
- Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts with project team and third parties
- Monitor costs, including labor time and material
- Communicate and enforce Judlau/OHLA Safety and Health Management Program
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and mentoring others
- Manage schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates
- Prepare and submit field operation Daily Reports
- Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings
Qualifications:
- 4-year Engineering Degree desired or equivalent Vocational Education
- OSHA 62hr Certification or OSHA 30hr with ability to take additional 32hr
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- 5+ years of industry experience involving field operations
- Knowledge of Contract Management processes
- Broad understanding of industry
- Familiarity with Local Trade Unions/Craft
- Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts, and Purchase Orders
- Familiarity with Local Utility company requirements
- Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
- Delegates work appropriately
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
