We are seeking an intelligent and ambitious individual interested in an exciting and challenging position as an Assistant Superintendent to deliver a superior home product, on time and on budget, that has been quality controlled and constructed with integrity and professionalism by managing offsite, common areas, model complex, and production home construction within predetermined budgets, on schedule and to a high standard of quality.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Assist the Superintendent to manage the home construction process.
- Assist the Superintendent with schedules, and/or supervises consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and inspectors.
- Assist the Superintendent as required interfacing with sales, customer service, and the homebuyer on a consistent and frequent basis.
- Assist the Superintendent in conducting pre-job meetings with subcontractors before key stages of construction.
- Assist the Superintendent in managing the Quality Control Inspection Program consistently with corporate policy and procedure.
- Performs daily quality walks of site operations.
- Performs intermediate meetings and walk-throughs with homebuyers during the construction process, as directed by the Superintendent.
- Assist the Superintendent in managing the Option Program and cut-off dates.
- Assist the Superintendent in managing Third Party Quality Control Inspection Programs consistently with corporate policy and procedure.
- Releases subcontractors and payments only after satisfactory completion of required work.
- Performs field measurement for all work paid by the actual quantity of work installed, i.e.. fencing and concrete flatwork.
- Maintains accurate account of any issues and/or delays.
- Assist the Superintendent with the completion of the punch list, inspection list, and customer list items to 100% completion.
- Monitors and enforces safety meetings.
- Monitors and keeps models in excellent condition.
- Assist the Superintendent in the administration of the Safety Program consistent with Corporate Policy.
- Assist the Superintendent to ensure compliance with all SWPPP requirements.
- Assist the Superintendent with the resolution of customer care issues.
- Assist the Superintendent in preparing plans and house files for archiving, including
accurate “As-Builts.”
- Ensure job site cleanliness, inside and outside, at all times.
- Maintain a weekly construction schedule to inform all trade contractors and suppliers about upcoming work.
- Prepare for, and schedule, government, and jurisdictional inspections as needed.
- Meet divisional established build time goals.
- Maintain a clean and orderly subdivision and construction office at all times.
- Assist the Warranty Team on an as-needed basis.
- Performs any task assigned.

- Meets established productivity and task management standards or seeks assistance regarding project requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises laborers, subcontractors, and vendors on the job site.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Key qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Requires excellent customer care and the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with homeowners and subcontractors, as needed.
- Thorough knowledge of the residential building industry and the ability to use general building tools and equipment.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle a multitude of projects simultaneously.
- Must have problem-solving, prioritizing abilities, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adhere to strict time deadlines and work under pressure.
- Ability to execute tasks efficiently without sacrificing quality.
- Ability to properly delegate and follow up on tasks with a pleasant and approachable demeanor.
- Required valid Texas driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Working knowledge of construction codes.
- Blueprint reading to interpret architecture, structural, and civil plans.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves both office and field responsibilities, which require the ability to operate a motor vehicle, climb stairs/ladders, read plans, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and/or carry items in excess of 50 pounds. Office work requires sitting at a computer monitor for extended periods of time, completing paperwork, and receiving/returning phone messages. Finger dexterity in operating a computer, keyboard, and calculator.
Safety Requirements:
This position is a safety-sensitive position and includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others. This position may require OSHA 10, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30, Dust Control and Fire-Safety Extinguisher training, to be provided by the company.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel will be required for this position. A valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance is required at all times.
