Position Summary:
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for field operations and technical support on the project assigned in order to achieve the safe, timely and profitable completion of each project.
Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Daily Safety Huddle in the absence of other field leadership, or as needed.
- Ensure the Daily Safety Plans or Job Hazard Analysis' are being completed by all onsite crews.
- Aid the Superintendent/Project Manager in the supervision of the field construction work effort.
- Interface with customers, project teams, site supervision, field personnel, including subcontractors.
- Develop three-week look ahead schedule and dispatch field labor and equipment in timely manner
- Approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
- Maintain accurate time and material records and complete client paperwork as required.
- Support and ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety and all company policies.
- Make recommendations on the hiring and disciplinary actions of field employees.
Hiring Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Two years of experience in construction design, finance, and management desirable. Education may be substituted for experience.
- Valid OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, or ability to obtain certificate (company paid).
- MA Construction Supervisor License (Preferred).
- Ability to run project meetings, as needed.
- Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of scheduling software (Primavera, Microsoft Project etc.)
- Must have valid unrestricted driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen (including marijuana).
