Summary of Position:
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for helping the Store Manager build sales and drive profitability in his/her assigned store location and to manage the achievement of tasks that need to be completed. Responsibilities include ringing transactions at the registers, providing excellent levels of customer service and suggestive selling with the Team, execution of merchandising and marketing strategies, supporting sales and profit growth, monitoring store conditions, training Sales Associates and completing all administrative and reporting responsibilities timely. This position supports adherence to our C.A.R.E.S. Operating standards and is responsible for consistently achieving exceptional store conditions.

Required Experience:
Applicants must have a minimum of one year experience in a customer oriented position, preferably as a Shift Leader, Department Leader or Assistant Store Manager.

Essential Functions:
- Perform all job responsibilities of the Sales Associate position when needed including ringing cash registers, providing customer service, suggestive selling, putting out stock, filling coolers, etc.
- Train and be a role model for Sales Associates to deliver excellent customer service, suggestive sell with customers using the tools provided and to maintain exceptional store conditions.
- Support positive customer experiences by ensuring safety, store condition and appearance, in-stock condition, customers always greeted and thanked, speed of service and suggestive selling.
- Build sales and profitability by partnering with the Store Manager to execute marketing and merchandising programs, provide timely fuel pricing information and execute changes quickly, consistently stay in-stock through proper ordering and ensure compliance with retail pricing strategies.
- Grow foodservice sales by maintaining all foodservice areas with fresh product available at all times and execute marketing programs like sampling to gain trial.
- Protect Company inventory and assets at all times by following asset control policies, controlling cash, inventory and expenses.
- Complete all administrative responsibilities timely and accurately including all store reports, vendor invoicing, daily bank deposits, merchandise counts/audits, waste, daily cash overages/shortages and price changes.
- Teach safety and food cleanliness standards and procedures and follow up to ensure that all Associates are adhering to these practices.
- Build positive relationships with store vendors and be diligent and accurate in managing the inventory received and orders placed.
- Prioritize the work for the Sales Associate Team and execute multiple projects and tasks with a sense of urgency.
- Complete Store Manager tasks when needed due to absence or time off.
- Coach and redirect sales associate when needed.
