About The Role
Fresh Baguette is seeking an energetic and dynamic Assistant Store Manager to join our Fresh Baguette Alexandria, Virginia bakery cafe (1101 King St, Alexandria, VA 22314). This full-time, hourly position is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for coffee and French baked goods, and enjoys leading and supporting teams to achieve their best. You will play a key role in ensuring customers receive a warm welcome and experience exceptional service in a clean and inviting atmosphere. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will contribute to upholding Fresh Baguette"s core values of Integrity, Respect, Reliability, Teamwork, Commitment, and Customer Orientation, while working closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
What You"ll Do
- Lead and motivate teams to exceed performance standards, ensuring adherence to Fresh Baguette"s culture, values, and vision.
- Delegate tasks effectively, maintaining high standards of service quality and operational efficiency.
- Assist the General Manager with hiring and scheduling to support store staffing needs.
- Train the team on daily operations, including food safety protocols and product knowledge.
- Demonstrate expertise in all tasks and activities within the store environment.
- Ensure customers are warmly welcomed and served in a clean and inviting atmosphere.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and ensure prompt resolution.
- Complete inventory management and track stock levels to ensure product availability.
- Enforce local and national health and food safety codes, as well as Fresh Baguette"s safety and security policies.
- Coach and train teams to deliver exceptional customer service and meet operational goals.
- Promote Fresh Baguette's core values and standards with integrity and enthusiasm.
- Foster the professional growth of team members through mentorship and support.

Shifts
- Our shifts typically start as early as 4:40AM and end as late as 7PM, 7 days per week.
- Morning shifts: 6AM-1PM
- Afternoon shifts: 1PM-7PM
- Baking shifts: 4:40AM to 1PM
- 7-8 hour shift
- 5 Days a week including Saturday and Sunday
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a management or leadership role within a fast-paced customer-facing environment.
- Experience in a bakery or cafe is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams to excel in operational and customer service standards.
- Experience in delegating tasks and maintaining high service quality standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and inviting presence.
- Passion for coffee and French baked goods, with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory and scheduling effectively.
- Hands-on experience in handling customer complaints and resolving issues.
- Knowledge of local and national health and food safety codes, with the ability to enforce policies effectively.
