As an Assistant Store Manager you are responsible to assist the store manager to ensure we are delivering outstanding customer service, and to focus on driving sales by hiring, training, and developing store associates. The Assistant Manager is also responsible to ensure the completion of assigned tasks and duties in his/her assigned store(s). This position reports to the General Manager.

Leadership
Experience: Prior retail experience preferred but not required. The candidate should have at least 2 () years supervisory experience. Have experience in leading others, make sound business decisions, and work in a fast paced business environment.
Education Level: High School Graduate level or above preferred. Candidate must possess a basic proficiency in English, Math, Reading, and Computer Skills.

Responsibilities of an Assistant Manager
Leadership
- Drives results through his/her team.
- Provides leadership and direction to all store associates as appropriate.
- Assists in the completion of all store functions including freight processing, day to day store activities and safety procedures.
- Assists in managing payroll by properly staffing and scheduling to business needs.
- Ensures that all company policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
- Holds the store team accountable to operational and service standards.
- Observes and coaches team behavior.
- Assist with the recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching of associates.
- Communicates well, both verbally and in writing.
- Works well with others.
- Complies with operational policies and procedures.
- Assist in enforcing expectations for team, then provides useable solutions to work related problems.
- Helps to maintains store and company standards.
- Adheres to company policies to protect company assets.
- Assist in the markdown process by making sure markdowns are executed consistently and in a timely manner.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
- Helps to ensure customer service is the major focus within the store.
- Understands and cares about the needs of the customer.
- Prioritizes work effectively to ensure customers are well served.
- Proactively resolves customer issues quickly.
- Train and coach associates on how to effectively deliver great customer service.

- Must stand for the duration of work shift (app. 80% of shift).
- Must be able to unload/lift/move multiple boxes weighing on average 35-50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend to assist customers select items merchandised on low fixtures.
- Must be able to push/pull carts with multiple cartons.

- Leadership Skills: Responsible for leading by example in all actions required to complete tasks and responsibilities. Must be able to assist in leading and motivating a team.
- Time Management: Must possess the necessary skills to get projects, scheduling, and many other store functions complete in a fasted paced environment.
- Sales and Budgeting: Must be able to read, understand and react to store reports, including sales and budgeting payroll, etc.
- Analytical Skills: Assist in the responsibility of hiring new associates and being a good judge of character which will help ensure that you hire the right people to maintain an efficient and motivated team. You will also need analytical skills to be able to solve problems that may come up during a typical work day.
- Decision Making Skills: Being able to assist in making hard and fast decisions is crucial to running a successful store. Whether it's dealing with associates, customers, or members of management, you will have to assist in making decisions that affect the company.
- Communication Skills: All Store Managers do a lot of speaking and writing. This might be one-on-one to a customer, in front of a group of associates, or in a meeting with a District Manager or upper Management. All members of Management must be able to effectively communicate their message, ideas, plans, etc.
- Customer Service Skills: All Store Managers are the role models for their store on how to effectively deliver great customer service to every customer, every day. A positive interaction with each customer is crucial for repeat business, associate morale, and success of the company.
