An experienced candidate must have prior success as a property and casualty underwriter, collaborating with retail agents and brokers to facilitate business resulting in premium growth and profitability. The Production Underwriter will contribute to the production and revenue generation of the property and casualty team. The ideal candidate excels at building relationships, servicing existing accounts, and creating new accounts. The right person is highly motivated, hard-working, goal oriented and a self-starter who will capitalize on the unlimited upside potential Southern General Agency offers.
The Assistant Property and Casualty Underwriter will work to support the sales and underwriting efforts for a Managing General Agency/Wholesale broker in Mississippi. First, you will contribute to the production and revenue generation of the property and casualty team.
MGA/Wholesale Broker Assistant Property and Casualty Underwriter Responsibilities:
- Migrate your existing agency relationships with an emphasis on driving new business revenue through personal production. Handle an existing renewal book the company can give to you to jump start the transition.
- Set and achieve new business production goals by identifying new agency relationships throughout Alabama, Mississippi, and/or Louisiana. Partner with unit managers on the developments of new product lines that can be cross marketed in your retail networks.
MGA/Wholesale Broker Assistant Property and Casualty Underwriter Requirements:
- At least 3-5 years of commercial Excess and Surplus line production underwriting or wholesale brokerage experience. Must have a strong existing presence in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast.
- Familiar with broad binding programs (casualty, property, professional lines) and also special programs (small Business, contractors, etc)
